LUCIFERIAN WITCHCRAFT brings toghether the common associative elements of the Adversary from a multi-cultural perspective. LUCIFERIAN WITCHCRAFT is an initiatory system of psychological and magickal development which directly models the mode of practice based on the Adversary.

No longer will the image of Lucifer or Satan be presented as a mere Christian creation. The Adversary in both feminine and masculine form is as old as man and the records kept. In Ancient Babylon it is Tiamat, in Ancient Egypt Set and Aapep/Apophis, in Ancient Persia Ahriman and Hebrew Samael. The first chapter of LUCIFERIAN WITCHCRAFT is a study of the foundations of the Adversary as a vital force in nature, the lifeblood itself.

LUCIFERIAN WITCHCRAFT is defined in Michael W. Ford's books, "LUCIFERIAN WITCHCRAFT", "LIBER HVHI - Magick of the Adversary", "Book of the Witch Moon", "Adamu" and various other titles.

The foundations of Luciferian Witchcraft as an initiatory practice is found in theory with LIBER HVHI - Magick of the Adversary. This book outlines the very essence of the Adversary from both Ancient Persian (Ahriman, Angra Mainyu) and Hebraic (Samael, Satan) to the practices of Ahrimanic Yoga. What is clear is this foundation presents a path of self-love and the mental/spiritual strength of the Luciferian.

The perception of Lucifer is to seek light, wisdom and higher articulation of being through developing and understanding self-consciousness. In the instance of witchcraft, it is specifically a magickal art of transformation by not only self-directed means, but also influences via nature and earthen inspired streams of imagination. The Luciferian is one who beholds no God beyond the self, that he or she is the First and Last within the circle of the abyss, responsible for their own achievements physically and spiritually.

Satanism by all foundations and forms, as viewed by society, displays the general conception of thought within the perception of a Satanist as the antagonist, the Adversary, while often neglecting in the deeper perception and essential balance to the human mind. Satanism must be considered a universal idea rather than a mere American or contemporary phenomena. We must seek to find and define the roots, the very foundation of an ideology based on the Adversary. The Luciferian or Satanist is not a defined character, there are stereotypes however no two Luciferians or Satanists are alike. While this is uncomfortable for the dullards of Christian society to comprehend, it is a fact. Luciferian thought is the religion of the Strong, the foundation of those who succeed in one way or another. It is time to move one more step beyond what Satanism has meant, progressing into a new spiritual completeness which challenges and strengthens the individual.

Satan as name, title or definition is an epithet of the older name Ahriman, or Angra Mainyu. This title is a deific mask representing continual points of transformation, mutation of energy which encompasses the practitioner. There is a specific homogeneity between Satanism, Luciferian and Ahrimanic cultic practice, all leading through various rites of inversion which capsulate the initiatory process towards the Adversary.

THE ADVERSARY FROM A LEFT HAND PATH PERSPECTIVE

"Our way is all about, in its beginnings, and for those daring individual who join us, liberating the dark or shadow aspect of the personality. To achieve this, we sometimes encourage individuals to undergo formative experiences of a kind which more conventional societies and individuals frown upon or are afraid of……But the strong survive, the weak perish. Consider the very nature of the Adversary, the wicked dragon whose very essence was continual change, self-mastery and power. His and her forms are many, from masculine to feminine to the effeminate. The barbarian and violence embodied soldier to the diplomatic statesman, the psychologist to the murderer. The Adversary is made great in this world by the individuals who manifest it in our material world. The Children of the Lie are many, legion, our visual appearance is often bold to even normal or bland. Many of our kind are those who go unnoticed in society, yet master and control our personal lives in such a way to which much “good luck” befalls us. Some are avatars of darkness, appearing as what society fears and hates most. The Beast headed God has taken many masks in our world, the Adversary has also mastered the elements as well.

The Adversary is anything but mysticism. When you discover something you destroy mysticism, within the circle of Azothoz, you banish mysticism by obtaining knowledge of the self. During pathworkings, camping away from anyone for a period of time, joining the military, doing something which captivates and awakens the senses, you destroy mysticism. The process and interaction may be overpowering and leave you in awe however it is no mystery. Mysticism is the act of neo-pagans who are trying to recapture the awe of your parents reading that first fantasy story to you that left your imagination with endless possibilities.

The Left Hand Path Adept (whether they know they are LHP or NOT) are those who do things with those endless possibilities, rather than talk in vague sentences about them. Mysticism is not-knowing that which cannot be known. A vicious cycle, the new age is truly something which is not new, rather a bad filter of what could be a wonderful reality.

Evil is nothing but an opinion and more or less a perspective of the individual. The left hand path is defined as the process of self-deification and using the energy of the serpent (called Shakti) to transform the consciousness into a timeless being. The left hand path is about find what aspects of the self are the core elements of being, separating and understanding the automatic and social-structuring which is fashioned by your environment. When you can discover these elements, many can change them to improve your material life, as well as heighten the spiritual.

It must be known that one of the core aspects of the left hand path is the transformation of the individual into a God or Goddess of their own design. It represents the current of what is collectively called “Luciferian”, despite whatever culture it is made manifest in, to use and grow within that dark power. As one moves through the Luciferian path, the initiate becomes like Ahriman yet without the right hand path deficiencies placed upon it in traditional folklore.

Cain is found in the symbolism of Luciferian Witchcraft as a sigil of the body of the sorcerer, who is the first Satanist and Predator. Cain is the Adversary of flesh, who causes storms and chaos – just as Set or Ahriman, his father of old. Within the scope of Luciferian Witchcraft, Cain is considered a cipher of the witch, the first one within the circle, the founder by blood of the sorcerous path. Cain must be viewed as one of the original Sons of Satan, he was by birth, different and isolate from the others.

Cain is the earthen initiator of Magick, the sorcerous enfleshed spirit of Lucifer and Lilith, Cain is also the one who walks with the Dragon – the path of the Nightside. In one hand is the fetish of Cain – the skull of Abel whom holds the gnosis of the Shade King, Azrael, the Western Gate of Twilight and realm of ghosts. The other hand is the Hammer, a tool of the forge which sparks the Cunning Fire in the clay of mortal flesh. Cain is the Temple maker and Witch Begetter, that which opens the gates of Hell and Heaven, the initiator of Witch Blood. Cain is envisioned as a Middle Eastern Man, bearded and dark, wisdom filling his eyes. Cain is also viewed as a bearded and horned human-beast, covered in gray and green earth, who is decorated with human and animal bones, his familiars.

One of the emerging and main sigils within Luciferian Witchcraft as defined by Michael W. Ford is the ALGOL Sigil, the Chaos Star with the inverse pentagram within. ALGOL – A word which derives from the Arabic Al Ra’s al Ghul, Al-Ghul, or Ri’B al Ohill, which is translated “The Demon’s Head”. Algol was in Hebrew known as Rosh ha Shaitan, or “Satan’s Head”, as some traditions have referred to Algol as the Head of Lilith. The Chinese called Algol Tseih She, which is “Piled up corpses” and was considered a violent, dangerous star due to its changing vivid colors. On some 17th century maps Algol was labeled, “The Specter’s Head”. Algol is a map of self-deification through rebellion, that is, a symbol of the Adversary in transformation.

CAIN - BAPHOMET

Cain or Tubal-Cain is the anthropomorphic child of the spiritual union of Samael (The Dragon) and Lilith (The Mother of Demons) through Eve. Cain is the wanderer, the first murderer who tasted blood and became as the off spring of his spiritual mother and father. Cain is also the Black Smith of the Forge, a myth which originates in the Middle East. Cain is the first Sorcerer and Shape Shifter, who drifted from his tribe (antinomianism) to become as a God (Self-Deification). He in turn was taught witchcraft and sorcery deeper by his spiritual Mother, Lilith. It was soon after that Cain would wander the earth forever, in spirit form, through the blood and psyche of his initiates, and manifest through their deeds and work. Cain walks between worlds, as Set, as his higher spirit, Azazel, called also Yaltabaoth and is the Horned Black Man of the Sabbat. To know the Path of the Wise is to know and commune with Cain, to become like him through initiatory Work based on your own predilection.

SAMAEL THE FALLEN ANGEL

It is written in the Bible that Samael/Satan fell from heaven as lightening, being a flash downwards, who before the fall was a guarding Seraph around the throne of God (Zurvan). After his fall he was a master of death, the very poison of God yet he was also a Giver of Life, being the father between fallen angel and woman. In later Jewish writings, Samael is associated with the name Malkira, which Morris Jastrow Jr. associated with Malik-Ra, being “The Evil Angel” and the name Matanbuchus, being a form of Angro-Mainyush or Ahriman. Here does the circle become closed and the nature of the First Angel become perceived or sensed. In ongoing ritual work, the magician begins identifying his or herself with Samael (and Lilith) within the parameters of their own life and initiation.

It can be easily understood that Samael, the “Prince of Satans” is by all means the Father of Lies or change. As initiation occurs, the self changes, mutates, becomes something better (or in some cases of failure, worse). That the self is changing and progressing constantly, there is no Truth as nothing remains the same. Here is the mystery of the Lie revealed; it is change in motion, the Dragon who mastery is of the earth. This is the model of magick within the heart of every initiate.

The Lord of the Earth, being a name ascribed to Samael (Satan) and his fallen angels and demons, are but considered astral spirits, that which no longer take physical form, but may become manifest through the magician or witch who may make a “pact” with them, being initiation and dedication to the Left Hand Path. Samael is the patron spirit of the Left Hand Path, as his Word is what formed our thoughts and gave us the inner fire of the Black Flame, our individual process of thought and free will. The magicians who aligned their will with the Left Way, that of Samael (the Devil), were given powers over the earth in one way or another; all the while strengthening, defining and expanding their conscious. In Exodus 7 the magicians were able to make frogs and serpents by the power they obtained in the Devil, thus such creatures are astral forms of Ahriman (Samael) and the dreaming body of witches and sorcerers.

LILITH THE QUEEN OF DEMONS

The beginnings of Lilith are comparative to the Antinomian essence which compliments her mate, Samael, whose manifestations are many and just as different throughout folklore and historical descriptions. The Semetic origins of the Goddess Lilith are found in the concept that she was born with Samael the fallen angel, that they are in union as a kind of infernal twins, similar to Adam and Eve. In the Journal of American Folklore Patai refers to Jacob and Isaac Hacohen who wrote that Lilith and Samael were born as twins of Flame.

Thus, to reiterate the point, by the magician developing the foresight to make his desire manifest, to flesh out, does he or she become as the Adversary and complete that which is said they are not able to do – have foresight. This is a forbidden act and is a crowning point of the magician or witch to step from the mortal association of mere flesh to a Daemon or vessel of the Adversary itself.

Lilith was said to have rested in spirit form in the bedsheets of the husband and wife, who while copulated waited for semen to absorb the sparks from the semen which came from their copulation. She would use the sperm to beget demons and succubi from the light associated with the seed.

Lilith as described in post-biblical literature is viewed as the Queen of Demons, she went to the caves near the Red Sea and copulated with fallen angels to beget other demons, she also taught (according to Manichaean lore – Az) the fallen angels how to form bodies and have sexual relations to give life to other ‘dragon children’, some of which she later devoured. In the Bundahishn Jahi was said to have been the reunited with her mate Samael (Ahriman) after the fall, when he would not be roused by his fellow fallen ones and demons, only the words of Jahi (Lilith) could rouse him. He then kissed her form and caused menstruation, which was passed on to all women as Lilith is directly connected with their fiery and dark sides.

Lilith is also associated with the star Algol, as with her husband and mate Samael/Satan. This term is associated with “ghul” or Ghoul. It is written in “Treatise on the Left Emanation” that “Samael and wicked Lilith are like a sexual pair who, by means of an intermediary, receive and evil and wicked emanation from one and emanate to the other” which refers to the point that both feed and grow strong from each other by the Crooked Serpent, Leviathan.

LEVIATHAN THE DRAGON OF THE ABYSS

LEVIATHAN – The Hebrew LVIThN is the crooked serpent and the dragon which brought Samael (Satan) in union with Lilith which in turn begets Cain. Leviathan is considered a timeless serpent which is comparable to Tiamat, chaos and violence whose kingdom is water. Leviathan is the gateway of the subconscious, from which all human power and spiritual evolution is found.

HECATE

Hecate is known as the Goddess of Witches, being that of Sorcery and the Cunning Craft. The aspects of Hecate within Roman and Greek culture show Hecate mostly in a dark or hidden aspect, having three heads (two being animal) and three torches. The vehicle wherein she traveled was a chariot guided by several dragons.

A key significance of the dragon is that such beings are connected to solar and lunar eclipses. By an eclipse the water in the lunar sign of Cancer is altered in force and substance. Dragons (which is a form the Varcolaci spirits often take) can transverse the night sky, gathering the blood of the moon. The other aspect of Hecate, Diana, is based on the more balanced side of the lunar Goddess. She was the watcher of mountains, forests, childbirth and women. In her dark aspect she was known as the huntress or destroyer. The Magick Light of Hecate is the backwards or 'black' wisdom of Lucifer, the Morning Star.

Hecate is the Lunar Mother, to which dream and desire give birth to the flesh of manifestation. The Gnostic God Lucifer or the Morning Star is the God of the Sun, being of Solar energy. Lucifer's goddess counter part is the Arabian Al-Uzza, a warrior of the morning star. A combination of both lunar and solar energy, strength and vision.
